Edge of Ember’s edgy, minimalist jewelry is handmade by local artisans in developing communities. No mass-produced wares or unfairly paid makers. They believe in creating solid, quality jewelry made by happy hands in a sustainable way. Designs are dreamed up in London and produced in collaboration with small artisan businesses globally. Behind each piece is an extra bit of sparkle – a story of traditional craftsmanship and fair labor practices. They create contemporary accessories that are a little fun and adventurous, that inspire smart and sophisticated fashionistas around the world to make a statement about their individual styles and ethical fashion.
Pieces are made by craftsmen in Indonesia, Thailand and Cambodia. These artisan groups include women-run businesses, Fair Trade organizations and home-based workers. They operate ethically (no sweatshop or child labor) and also support traditional local talent- a cause they love to champion in this era of mass production factories and forgotten makers. Edge of Ember has forged strong relationships with these global workshops over the years, and endeavours to incorporate socially responsible practices in every part of our supply chain, from using repurposed brass, to employing environmentally friendly ways of disposing post-production waste.
